They are relatively small treatments that are usually carried out on an outpatient basis and require little recovery time. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although injectables are generally safe when they are applied carefully, they remain medical treatments. As with any procedure, there are risks and possible side effects. When the product spreads to surrounding muscles, this can lead to unwanted effects, such as: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Drooping eyelid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asymmetry in the face<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Difficulty lifting the eyebrow<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A changed smile pattern<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These effects are usually temporary and disappear after a few weeks to months, because the effect of botulinum toxin gradually diminishes.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific risks with fillers<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hyaluronic acid-based fillers bring other risks with them.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Possible complications are:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Irregularities or small bumps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overcorrection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Displacement of the filler<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prolonged swelling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A rare but serious complication is the accidental injection of filler into a blood vessel. This can lead to blockage of the blood supply, with tissue damage as a result.
