During the procedure, the plastic surgeon removes a small portion of the nipple to adjust the size. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and takes about 30 to 60 minutes.

In short, the procedure can be both cosmetic and functional in nature, depending on your personal situation and wishes.
The duration of the procedure depends on the type of nipple correction needed. For a nipple reduction or correction of retracted nipples, the procedure usually takes 30 to 60 minutes per nipple. In cases where both the nipple and areola need to be adjusted, the procedure may take slightly longer, but remains a relatively short procedure.
The correction is performed under local anesthesia, which means you will be awake during the procedure but will not feel any pain. After the procedure, you can go home almost immediately and the recovery process begins.
