I am David Jairath, plastic surgeon since 2004. I studied Medicine at the University of Amsterdam where I also did my specialization as a plastic surgeon. During my training I did several internships at home and abroad.
After my training, I started working at the Spaarne Hospital Hoofddorp. Nowadays this is the Spaarne Gasthuis with 3 locations in Hoofddorp, Haarlem Zuid and Haarlem Noord.
In hospital practice, I preformed breast reconstructions in conjunction with general surgery, trauma (plastic surgery), hand surgery and general plastic surgery. In the private clinic (Plastic Cosmetic Center Spaarne) I further specialized in cosmetic surgery.
The years of experience I gained there I now use for my clients at Kliniek het Bolwerk.

Eyelid surgery
Ik ben ontzettend tevreden over mijn ooglidcorrectie door David Jairath. Omdat ik in het verleden al eens een ooglidcorrectie heb ondergaan, had ik een goed beeld van wat ik kon verwachten. Juist daardoor viel deze ervaring extra positief op.
David Jairath is een zeer kundige en professionele chirurg, maar wat hem voor mij echt onderscheidt, is hoe toegankelijk en betrokken hij is. Hij neemt uitgebreid de tijd om alles duidelijk uit te leggen, luistert aandachtig naar je vragen en is ook na de ingreep goed bereikbaar. Dat gaf mij veel vertrouwen en een veilig gevoel gedurende het hele traject.
Ook de nazorg is uitstekend. Je merkt dat je als patiënt echt centraal staat en dat er oprechte aandacht is voor een goed herstel. Vragen worden snel en vriendelijk beantwoord, wat veel rust geeft.
Ik kan David Jairath dan ook van harte aanbevelen aan iedereen die een ooglidcorrectie overweegt. Een deskundige chirurg met een prettige, persoonlijke benadering en uitstekende nazorg. Ik ben erg blij met mijn keuze en het mooie resultaat.

Ik ben ontzettend blij met het resultaat van mijn behandeling bij dr. Jairath. Ik kwam voor een lipcorrectie vanwege littekenweefsel en vanaf het eerste consult had ik direct een heel prettig en vertrouwd gevoel.
Dr. Jairath is een vakman in hart en nieren. Zijn oog voor detail, precisie en professionaliteit geven je meteen het vertrouwen dat je in de beste handen bent. Hij neemt alle tijd, luistert aandachtig naar je wensen en legt alles duidelijk en rustig uit. Ook zijn assistente verdient een groot compliment. Zij is ontzettend vriendelijk, betrokken en zorgzaam en weet je vanaf het eerste moment volledig op je gemak te stellen.
De ingreep is zeer vakkundig uitgevoerd en het resultaat ziet er nu al mooier uit dan ik had durven hopen. Ook de nazorg is uitstekend. Alles wordt duidelijk uitgelegd en je merkt aan alles dat er met oprechte aandacht en liefde voor het vak wordt gewerkt. Ik ben enorm dankbaar voor de professionele én persoonlijke begeleiding. I visited Mr. Jairath for an eyelid correction and am extremely satisfied with the entire process.
From the first consultation through to the operation and aftercare, everything felt professional, clear and reassuring. Mr. Jairath is a highly skilled doctor with a great deal of knowledge and experience. He knows exactly what he is talking about, puts you at ease and gives honest, sound advice.
The procedure and guidance were in my opinion absolutely worth 5 stars. I am very happy with the result of the correction, my complaints have gone and I feel much better for it.

During the intake consultation with Mr. David Jairath, I already had a good feeling about it. He gave a clear explanation of what the procedure entailed. After the intake, I also received additional information by email. The procedure itself was very relaxed. He explained each step clearly as we went along. Everything is done under local anaesthesia. We had a very pleasant conversation during the procedure and before you knew it, the treatment was finished. I received clear instructions on what to do after the procedure. After a week, the stitches were removed. I am very satisfied with the end result.

As a plastic surgeon, I have years of specialized training and experience in aesthetic surgery, including eyelid surgery. This ensures not only a safe procedure, but also high-quality cosmetic results.
Choosing a plastic surgeon means investing in quality, precision and peace of mind, a difference that goes beyond price.
As with any surgery, there are a small number of risks associated with eyelid surgery. For example, there may be temporary swelling and bruising around the eyes. However, this is normal after such procedures and disappears on its own within a few days to a week.
Scarring and asymmetry of the eyes are less common. We perform the procedure meticulously to minimize the risk of side effects. With proper aftercare, the risk of complications is very low.
Eyelid surgery is usually not covered by basic insurance (in The Netherlands) because it is a purely cosmetic procedure. Some supplementary insurance policies do offer coverage. It is wise to check whether your insurer will cover this procedure if it is medically necessary, for example, in cases of poor vision due to swollen or drooping eyelids.

At Kliniek het Bolwerk, we do not share “before and after” photos of our eyelid surgery procedures. We do this out of respect for the privacy of our clients. Although we like to show the results of our treatments, we are not allowed to share medical information and photos without permission.
However, clients can discuss their own before and after photos with us during their intake. This way we like to give an honest picture of what clients can expect from us. This without going into individual treatments without permission.
The recovery process after eyelid surgery usually only takes about a week. In the first few days, there will be swelling and bruising around the eyes. This is normal after such a procedure. Take it easy for the first 3 days.
After about a week, these symptoms are almost gone. After a week, the sutures are removed. At that point, you will be fully on your feet again, although of course the results will take some time to appear.
Within 2-3 weeks you can already see most of the final results. Typically, our clients recover quickly.
