I have been working with great dedication as a plastic surgeon for more than 15 years. After studying medicine at the University of Amsterdam, I specialised in plastic and reconstructive surgery, focusing mainly on precision, functionality and aesthetics.
During my training I gained valuable experience in several hospitals, both in the Netherlands and abroad. This gave me a broad view of different techniques and approaches to patients. I am extremely satisfied with my eyelid surgery by David Jairath. Because I had already had eyelid surgery in the past, I had a good idea of what to expect. That is exactly why this experience stood out as so positive.
David Jairath is a very skilled and professional surgeon, but what really sets him apart for me is how approachable and involved he is. He takes plenty of time to explain everything clearly, listens carefully to your questions and is also easy to reach after the procedure. That gave me a lot of confidence and a sense of safety throughout the whole process.
The aftercare is also excellent. You notice that you as a patient really come first and that there is genuine attention to a good recovery. Questions are answered quickly and kindly, which is very reassuring.

I am so happy with the result of my treatment with Dr Jairath. I came for a lip correction because of scar tissue, and from the first consultation I immediately had a very pleasant and trusting feeling.
Dr Jairath is a true craftsman through and through. His eye for detail, precision and professionalism immediately give you the confidence that you are in the best hands. He takes all the time you need, listens carefully to your wishes and explains everything clearly and calmly. His assistant also deserves a big compliment. She is extremely friendly, involved and caring and puts you completely at ease from the very first moment.

I went to Mr Jairath for eyelid surgery and I am extremely satisfied with the whole process.
From the first consultation through to the operation and the aftercare, everything felt professional, clear and trustworthy. Mr Jairath is a very skilled doctor with a great deal of knowledge and experience. He knows exactly what he is talking about, puts you at ease and gives honest, good advice.

Eyelid surgery
During the intake consultation with Mr David Jairath I already had a good feeling about it. He explained clearly what the procedure involved. After the intake I also received additional information by email. The procedure itself was very relaxed. He explained everything step by step during the procedure. Everything is done under local anaesthetic. We had a really nice conversation during the procedure and before you knew it the treatment was over. I received clear information on what to do after the procedure. After a week the stitches were removed. I am very satisfied with the final result.

Many people choose eyelid surgery because they are bothered by drooping eyelids or eye bags. These can give a tired, gloomy or aged appearance. In some cases they also obstruct vision. So both cosmetic and functional reasons play a role. Eyelid surgery can effectively correct this, resulting in a fresh and open appearance.
The procedure itself causes hardly any pain, because it is carried out under local anaesthetic. After the treatment you may experience a tight or bruised feeling around the eyes. This is normal and temporary. Most people experience only mild discomfort that can easily be relieved with paracetamol and cold compresses.
Most patients from Alkmaar resume their daily activities within a week. In the first few days you may have swelling and bruising. After about 7 to 10 days, most of the recovery is behind you and you will see the first result. It is best to wait two weeks before exercising, lifting or applying make-up around the eyes.
Eyelid surgery has a long-lasting effect. In many cases, the result remains clearly visible for 10 to 15 years. Of course the skin ages over the years, but a repeat treatment is often only needed after a long time, if you feel the need for it.
Only upper eyelid surgery can be reimbursed in some cases, provided there is a medical indication, such as a demonstrably restricted field of vision.
