Trains run directly from Amsterdam Centraal or Amsterdam Sloterdijk to Haarlem station. From Centraal it takes about fifteen minutes. From the station you walk to the clinic on Staten Bolwerk.
By car, take the A10, A4 and A9 to the N200 towards Haarlem. Follow the N200 over the bridge across the Spaarne. Just past Haarlem station, the entrance to Staten Bolwerk 1 is on your right. The clinic has two free parking spaces.
You may not drive yourself after the procedure. If you come by train, arrange for someone to take you home. Would you like to meet first without travelling? The first consultation can also be a video consultation.
Patients also come from elsewhere in the region, for example from Amstelveen, Zaandam through a Hoofddorp.
I am David Jairath, a plastic surgeon since 2004. I studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam, where I also trained as a plastic surgeon. During my training I did various placements in the Netherlands and abroad.
After my training I started working at the Spaarne Hospital in Hoofddorp. Today this is the Spaarne Gasthuis, with 3 locations in Hoofddorp, Haarlem Zuid and Haarlem Noord.
In hospital practice I worked on breast reconstructions in collaboration with general surgery, (plastic surgical) trauma, hand surgery and general plastic surgery. At the private clinic (Plastisch Cosmetisch Centrum Spaarne) I specialised further in cosmetic surgery.
I now use the many years of experience I gained there for my clients at Kliniek het Bolwerk.

Eyelid surgery
I am extremely satisfied with my eyelid surgery by David Jairath. Because I had already had eyelid surgery in the past, I had a good idea of what to expect. That is exactly why this experience stood out as so positive.
David Jairath is a very skilled and professional surgeon, but what really sets him apart for me is how approachable and involved he is. He takes plenty of time to explain everything clearly, listens carefully to your questions and is also easy to reach after the procedure. That gave me a lot of confidence and a sense of safety throughout the whole process.
The aftercare is also excellent. You notice that you as a patient really come first and that there is genuine attention to a good recovery. Questions are answered quickly and kindly, which is very reassuring.
I can therefore wholeheartedly recommend David Jairath to anyone considering eyelid surgery. A skilled surgeon with a pleasant, personal approach and excellent aftercare. I am very happy with my choice and the lovely result.

I am so happy with the result of my treatment with Dr Jairath. I came for a lip correction because of scar tissue, and from the first consultation I immediately had a very pleasant and trusting feeling.
Dr Jairath is a true craftsman through and through. His eye for detail, precision and professionalism immediately give you the confidence that you are in the best hands. He takes all the time you need, listens carefully to your wishes and explains everything clearly and calmly. His assistant also deserves a big compliment. She is extremely friendly, involved and caring and puts you completely at ease from the very first moment.
The procedure was carried out very skilfully and the result already looks better than I had dared to hope. The aftercare is also excellent. Everything is explained clearly and you can tell in every way that the work is done with genuine attention and love for the profession. Eyelid surgery
I went to Mr Jairath for eyelid surgery and I am extremely satisfied with the whole process.
From the first consultation through to the operation and the aftercare, everything felt professional, clear and trustworthy. Mr Jairath is a very skilled doctor with a great deal of knowledge and experience. He knows exactly what he is talking about, puts you at ease and gives honest, good advice.
As far as I am concerned, the procedure and guidance were absolutely worth 5 stars. I am very happy with the result of the correction, my complaints have gone and I feel a lot better for it.

Eyelid surgery
During the intake consultation with Mr David Jairath I already had a good feeling about it. He explained clearly what the procedure involved. After the intake I also received additional information by email. The procedure itself was very relaxed. He explained everything step by step during the procedure. Everything is done under local anaesthetic. We had a really nice conversation during the procedure and before you knew it the treatment was over. I received clear information on what to do after the procedure. After a week the stitches were removed. I am very satisfied with the final result.

Like other cosmetic procedures, eyelid surgery carries a small risk. Our specialist performs each procedure carefully to avoid complications.
Temporary symptoms such as swelling or bruising occur, but usually disappear quickly. Permanent scars or scarring are extremely rare.
Thanks to our many years of experience, we know how to best manage recovery. We are happy to explain how we minimize the risks and maximize your healing.
Cosmetic eyelid surgery is usually not covered by basic insurance. It may be reimbursed in some supplementary packages.
If there is a medical indication, there is a chance of (partial) reimbursement. Contact your insurer for this.
You can, of course, pay for the treatment yourself. We are transparent about our fees.
During the intake interview we are happy to discuss the options with you. Together we look for the best, most affordable solution. Our focus is on a natural result.
