What causes enlarged pores?

Pores become more visible through a combination of factors. Excessive sebum production can cause pores to become blocked and expand. What can you do yourself?

A good daily skincare routine is the basis. Cleanse the skin twice a day with a mild cleanser to remove sebum and impurities. Do not use products that clog the pores.

Products with retinol, niacinamide or salicylic acid can help to reduce the visibility of pores. Retinol stimulates cell renewal, niacinamide reduces sebum production and salicylic acid cleanses the pores from within.

Using sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every day helps to prevent further skin ageing and the associated visibility of pores.

Which professional treatments are available?

There are various treatments that can help to reduce enlarged pores. Chemical peels remove the top layer of skin and stimulate cell renewal. Laser treatments can stimulate collagen production and improve skin structure. Microneedling makes tiny holes in the skin that activate the healing process and can make the pores look smaller.
