What is Morpheus8?

What does this term mean?

Definitie

Morpheus8 is a treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. Small needles penetrate the skin and deliver radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers of the skin. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and improves skin texture and firmness.

Uitgebreide uitleg

How does Morpheus8 work?

The device has a handpiece with small needles that penetrate the skin to a controlled depth. At that depth radiofrequency energy is delivered, which heats the tissue. This heating effect activates the skin's repair process and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin.

Because the energy is delivered at the right depth, the treatment can affect both the skin and the underlying fatty tissue. This makes Morpheus8 suitable for addressing skin laxity and improving skin quality.

What is Morpheus8 used for?

Morpheus8 is used for various complaints and goals. Common indications are:

  • skin laxity on the face, neck and body
  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • scars, including acne scars
  • uneven skin texture
  • fat accumulation in certain areas, such as under the chin

The treatment can be used on both the face and the body.

What does the treatment involve?

Before the treatment a numbing cream is applied. This makes the treatment as comfortable as possible. The handpiece is then applied to the areas to be treated. Depending on the area, the treatment usually takes 30 to 60 minutes.

After the treatment the skin may be red and feel slightly swollen. This usually disappears within a few days. The skin needs some recovery time, and sun protection is essential during recovery.

How long does the result last?

The results of Morpheus8 build up over several weeks after the treatment, as the body produces new collagen. Two to three sessions are often recommended for an optimal result. The effect is long-lasting, but the skin continues to age over time.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Morpheus8 is generally considered safe when the treatment is carried out by an experienced practitioner. Common side effects are temporary redness, swelling and a slight burning sensation. In rare cases small scabs or temporary pigmentation changes can occur.

Good aftercare and sun protection are important for a safe recovery process.
